In Their Own Words

At 80 years Charlene Phipps shares what nature reveals about healing in her own words ~

“On my first trip to Italy with my husband and teenage daughter, we came acrossan ancient church at the edge of the sea. I felt compelled to go inside even thoughknow one else was there. It was so quiet and peaceful as I slipped into a center pewwhere I could see the many crosses and the likeness of Mary, Jesus and thedisciples. After a little while I felt a faint tap on my shoulder and I heard thesewords so clearly; “you are forgiven”.To this day I am not sure what I was forgiven for but a great weight lifted off meand I felt so much lighter, alive and free. I will always remember this moment asmy great miracle, and I will always feel blessed by what true nature can reveal tous.Growing up I lived on a street at the end of town and across there was nothing butthe mountain and the Forrest. There, I was free to roam and discover the miraclesof the natural world.Over the years I have realized how important it is not only to forgive myself but toforgive others in this beautiful but imperfect world.I am an 80 year old woman, who once again lives in the forrest where I feedbluejays seeds from my hand and deer sometimes wander. The forest is my chapel. I am in the prime of my life digging my roots in, living and growing like a tree everyday."
