In Their Own Words

He viajado y he amado, me han amado.

"I believe in the human being as a ball of clay, capable of molding us, taking us off, putting us on, building us and going through the fire to change and transform us. The way I communicate, express and heal, is art...it can be with a movement, a line of color, an embroidery or a collage...those have been my most powerful and valuable tools. I recognize myself as a person who has been at the service of others for more than 20 years in a profession which I love. Being an art therapist, psychologist, wich an artist has helped me grow and learn from each moment and from each person.

I consider that being a woman has been fascinating, I always discover something interesting about myself. I am fascinated by being a woman with everything and what it entails. I have lived intensely despite living in a country with great problems and inequalities. I have traveled and I have loved, they have loved me.

Lately I have led several workshops only with women, especially the workshop: Photography and embroidery, where the concept and construction of Being a Woman is worked on through art therapy, photography and embroidery (with its various techniques).  At the end, an exhibition of the intervened pieces from each one will be held in 2024 in the city of Zamora, Michoacán. I believe that women have great opportunities to rebuild ourselves, rewrite ourselves, embroider ourselves, mend ourselves in the midst of great changes in life and the moments that affect us in the present. Women are creators, subtle builders of the present, of today. Our strength says: BEING A WOMAN is the opportunity and decision to recognize myself with the gifts of creation, intuition and sensitivity. To exercise the ability to be strong in decisive moments, at the same time, to be loving and brave. Being a woman is enjoying the right to love my sexuality and recognize my erotic and pleasure side, to be sensual. I recognize the difficulties and challenges that this also entails, such as my menstruation and all the problems and hormonal imbalances that I may have. Experiencing discrimination, judgments, demands from my environment, misogyny and lack of voice in various areas of life. I love being a woman.

I chose the words LOVE and RE-BIRTH first because I speak both languages and sometimes I feel in both languages. On the one hand, I have learned important things after having experienced a couple separation where after 9 years I decided to leave and the illness of my 6-year-old daughter, which lasted one year. Thanks to those two experiences mainly, I have realized that LOVE for myself led me to make important decisions regarding the past relationship and that it was also the basis and the impulse that helped me see beyond my daughter's illness with all due respect to her path and her story. The word RE-BIRTH because that's how I feel today, in a re-discovery of myself, re-learning about myself, loving myself, coming back to life."
